Interview with Mr. Blanchard

‘I don’t think we’re taught how to be human very often’

Mr. Blanchard made clear his aspiration to integrate pragmatic knowledge into school curricula. Echoing this commitment to sharing his lived experience, Blanchard gave us edifying advice on how to avoid debt and make the most of college. He remarked of his love for musical theatre: an amusement that later became his educational background and gateway into teaching. We were struck by his emotional honesty, reminding us that we are all walking through stages—however stratified they may be—of a shared, precious existence.

Interview with Ms. Adams

‘Be forgiving of people’

Ms. Adams affirmed the joy of watching her students grow up, the importance of tourism and cultural understanding, and the necessity of forgiveness in not just the teaching world—but in life at large. Further, we learned of her favorite books, video games, and music. She fondly related experiences with her zoo of pets, namely her birds, even presenting to us a video of their friendship.
